Annadhanam was done at Sri Vidya Old Age home, Ramapuram on 28th October, 2017, Saturday. It is a home for Senior Citizens and mainly serves the elder people like aged and or physically retarded men and abundant, widower and old aged women. Elder people living there are all aged between 70 and 80.
The management takes a great effort in maintaining and taking of 85 people which is not an easy task!
Pariveshayati Trust joined hands with them and served quality meals to the elderly people and obtained blessings of them. We served them food and spent time with them hearing out their grievances and consoled them which were the best we could do. It is painful to see such people being abandoned by their children or homes. But we hope the time we spent with them will be a very small console for them to their worries.
Only few pitiable and pathetic cases are briefed:
1. Worked in UCO bank and affected with paralytical attack, wife already deceased. Son refused to take care of and sent here.
2. Worked RBI and retired, both his son and daughter died in an accident. As none was there, he joined here. His elder sister’s daughter also here. With pesion, he takes care of her and himself.
Few snaps from the oldage home:
We sincerely thank the management of Sri Vidya Trust, Ramapuram and the volunteers and one and all who supports us regularly to conduct such successful Charity Programs and provide us with opportunity to serve the poor and needy.
Please be kind to donate for the noble cause. Feel free to interact with us for any queries.

3. A blind lady of above 80, but, she does all her work by herself, except cleaning the cooking utensils. She does her all daily routines without any help of others! When asked, “whether you want anything?”, she replied, “Nothing”!
4. Old lady – her husband working in ESI died. Son also died in an accident. Daughter in law cleverly changed the property in her name and send her here. Till sometime back, her grandson used to come, but, now, he also stopped coming. She asked one of us, one youngster of 20s, “Will you please come and see me every month?”. We could not control our emotions. Above all, she gifted us with mat she stitched with old clothes!
5. Old lady with dementia – with lose of memory. She sits for eating, but, touches the food without lifting; takes the food to her mouth, but, not putting inside the mouth; puts her inside the moth, but, does not swallow! For every step, she has to be made to remember! “Grandma, eat quickly, as your grandson, wants to go”, shouted one and she got alerted,”Oh sorry, I delayed you, but, have taken food, she asked!”
And when generally asked, what they want, they reply without hesitation, that they have been waiting for death, but, it is not coming!
